Both, on a two-spring door. The second spring is the same age as the one that broke and has done the same number of cycles, so it usually fails within months. Replacing it on the same visit costs you one service call instead of two. We do not replace just one on a two-spring system.Can you repair one panel instead of the whole door?
Yes. A single dented or split section on an otherwise sound door does not mean the whole door has to go. There is no flat price for it, because panels vary by size, style and age, and a section for a twenty-year-old door is a different proposition from one fitted last year. We look at the specific door and the specific damage and quote it from there. If a panel repair makes sense we will say so, and if the door is far enough gone that replacing it is the better spend, we will say that too.Is it worth repairing, or should I replace the door?
Usually repairing. A door with sound panels and a straight track is worth fixing, and a spring or a set of rollers costs a fraction of a replacement. If it does need replacing we will tell you, and the estimate on a door replacement is free — there is no service-call charge on that visit. If it does not need replacing, we will tell you that too.Is sales tax added to garage door repairs in Kentucky?
No. Kentucky treats this work as an improvement to real property and does not tax it, so the figure we quote is the figure you pay. There is nothing added at the end.How fast can you get here if my car is trapped?
Call and we will tell you straight — we would rather give you a real time on the phone than publish one we cannot keep. Our hours are Monday–Sunday, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM. After 7:00 PM, calls are handled as after-hours emergency service at $159.95, until we open again at 7:00 AM. In hours it is $79.95, and you hear the rate and agree to it before we set off either way. If a spring has gone, do not try to lift the door by hand.
