What does a garage door opener cost?
A new opener starts at $750 fitted, and what it costs above that comes down to two things: the drive type and the horsepower. A heavier or wider door needs more power, and a belt drive costs more than a chain. We stock Guardian belt-drive openers and fit them as standard — a belt runs quieter than a chain, which is the difference you notice most in a house with a room over the garage. LiftMaster is available on request; we do not carry it on the truck, so it is ordered in. The operator itself is replaced rather than repaired. What we do repair is the controls — remotes, keypads and wall stations — and those are quoted on the specific need after the $79.95 service call, because what they cost depends on what has failed. No. Kentucky treats this as an improvement to real property and does not tax it, so the figure we quote is the figure you pay.
